"When my husband and I had decided it was time to bring another dachshund back into our home, I started searching for a reputable breeder. Thanks to Google, I somehow managed to come across Tonya and the Regal Red Dachshund website. I first reached out to Tonya via email, and she was quick (and thorough!) to respond to my questions about availability, timing, waitlist etc. Before we decided to move ahead with placing a deposit on a puppy, we arranged a phone call with Tonya. Tonya is one of the nicest, most genuine people you will meet, and her love and knowledge of the dachshund breed is obvious in conversation with her. Logistically, with us being in Massachusetts, and her in Georgia, it was a little less than ideal, but after talking with Tonya, we knew she was the breeder for us! We sent her our deposit and waited for our puppy to be born! She was very responsive to my (many) emails throughout the process. After the litter was born, we flew to Atlanta and Tonya welcomed us into her home. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and it was like we were visiting with a friend. We got to spend the afternoon playing with all the puppies, and her other dachshunds. It is very obvious that her dogs are all well loved. One of the toughest decisions we had to make was which one of the adorable puppies would be coming home with us...in fact, it was SO hard that we decided to adopt TWO puppies! Just about 2 weeks after our first visit with Tonya, we flew back to Atlanta and brought our 2 new pups home. Born on Christmas Day, Ruger and Remi recently turned 6 months old, and they are the light of our lives. Besides being so completely adorable, they are SO well behaved. They crushed the crate and potty training with ease. They are sweet and cuddly and mischievously cute all at the same time. They are best friends and we are so glad that we made the decision to bring home both of our boys. We cannot say enough good things about Tonya and the dachshunds she produces. We feel incredibly blessed to have been chosen by Tonya to be part of the Regal Red family. "We are so happy to have met Tonya and brought home our mini doxie from Regal Red! We had contacted multiple breeders prior to finding Tonya and had always gotten lapsed communication and vague answers in return. With Tonya, we were on a waitlist for a pup from a litter and receiving litter updates and puppy pictures within a couple weeks. We visited Tonya's home twice and the hardest part of the whole process was picking a puppy from such an adorable litter.
