Dachshund Puppies
We take great care in raising our dachshund puppies and preparing them for their new homes. Our puppies are born, nursed, weaned, and raised inside our home, where they enjoy a clean and calm environment. They go for multiple veterinary exams, including their initial health assessment at three weeks old. Vaccinations are not given until the pups are seven to eight weeks old, when they are examined again to make sure they are in perfect health. Socialization is important in the early stages of a puppy’s life. We believe a lot of love and interaction, where puppies are gently handled every day, produces the best pet ever. We make sure that all pups meet our extended family, including our eight grandchildren, who adore them. These visits expose the pups to various voices, scents, and experiences. By the time the pups start toddling around, their tails are already wagging, waiting for the adventures of the new day. We also acclimate them to household sounds, such as vacuums, television, loud blenders, dropping of books, etc. This helps them adjust to the noise they will encounter once they join their new families. When pups are old enough, they go outside for daily play dates and often play with LaKota, the Husky next door. By the time they leave for their new homes, they love all dogs, large and small, as well as all people and children. This exposure produces pups that are comfortable around different individuals and situations.
